.........some times best laid plans...

Well, I intended to do some sewing, and I did.....my aim was not to spend a day playing stupid "Candy Crush" on facebook!
I thought I had a brilliant idea, of using a photo of my georgous flowers in the garden from last year, and using them as inspiration for some free hand applique and embroidery....spent most of the morning fiddling with the printer and software and ended up making an upcycled dribble bib for my nephew Oakley. Prolonging the life of his much loved Baby t-shirts.. Oh well - least I did do some sewing!

The end of January.................

It's has been a quiet start to the week at Nutsend. As I have managed to catch up on all my sewing for Dress Uniform Hire, I thought I earned a bit aof a rest!

Iris from last year at Nutsend
I had been set the challenge of making a 2 month year old No1's uniform - so ideas were buzzing around my head.....so watch this space for a picture!

However - I decided to actually do some sewing for pleasure - and came up with an applique idea, using a computer image and free hand embroidery.........lets see what happens.........

My job - have a looksie!

At the start of something new.............

Being wide awake, and watching the snow outside and 5am in the morning! It seemed a good idea to start a blog.
Initially thinking blogs were boring - I now realise - it will be a great way to share my journey in life as the last year has been amazing, and things are just going to be fun - fun - fun from now on in!

                                                                                    ..............family.............................

This is us - our 3 unit family!
Amy has turned 5 and is just the funniest person.
She has a mixture of both our personalities, which makes for an interesting life ahead for her.

.....work.....

Got a job as soon as we moved to the country - I can honestly say it's quite unique. I measure and fit Hire uniforms for the Army boys who get married in a No1 Dress. A VERY steep learning curve, but boy is it fun!

                                                                                    .............life....................................

We moved to a wonderful house - oddly named "Nutsend" - we kept that name! We are now embarking on a journey of Decorating and refurbishment. Something that will always take time and money.......So - here it goes!
